- The second Challah Back Kitchen event, "Soy Vey! Dinner", will be held on Saturday, August 22. It will feature a completely vegetarian menu of homemade pickles, spicy watermelon salad, ratatouille with herbed cauliflower rice, and Atlantic Beach pie with a matzoh crust.

- And this week's shout-out goes to the Houston Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), where I recently became a foster volunteer. Through this experience, I brought home Pickles, a chihuahua mix I ended up adopting last weekend. The SPCA is a great organization that works to find temporary and forever homes for animals in need through local chapters in cities around the country. Mexikosher Dinner: A Challah Back Kitchen Event
On Saturday, June 6, Challah Back Kitchen will host its first event: A dinner party featuring kosher-style Mexican food, including corn masa (matzoh) ball soup with jalapeno.
